Manager Search
We provide a comprehensive approach to searching for the right manager for each client.
We have an open door policy for all managers that wish to share with us their products and opportunities. Our objective approach allows us to always look for 'best-in-class' managers, without any conflict of interest. We also serve as a due diligence review for solicited investments presented to our clients for consideration.
When evaluating investment products we categorize it according to its quality, style and history of returns. We do not accept simulated returns as a basis for any proposed investment.
In a broader context we consider only those asset classes that achieve the desired result as a component of an efficient frontier model.
We have a qualified five member Investment Manager Evaluation.
1. Style Definition:
The first stage to our process is to affirm the style characteristics mandated by the investment policy of the client. This process includes social responsibility issues and core composition requirements. With this information the Investment Manager Evaluation Committee defines search criteria.
2. Universe Screen:
When the criteria is set, the analysts undertake a broad search of all available managers that comply with the search criteria. Utilizing fundamental, peer and performance/benchmark data we reduce the field of managers to ten to twelve. These managers are further screened and ranked according to their stability, annualized trailing performance and fee structures.
Typically we present to the client this shortlist of first cut managers. With approval and input, we compile a short list for interviews.
3. Interviews:
Interviewed managers are scored on a system of ability, organization, results and willingness to work with the client to achieve its style objectives.
4. Findings
Once the managers have been interviewed and scored, we then make recommendations to the investment committee. The final decision is typically made by the client.
